smooth2o, I never said that Intel could not introduce multi-core designs, I am sure they can. I don't know what your profession is but in my industry (software engineering) you don't want to overfeature a product in one release as that is usually a fertile ground for bugs that are hard to stomp out. So, if Intel is adding 64-bits, NX, memory controller, dual cores to match what AMD has/will have in the next 12 months, do you think that all that will be introduced in one new core? I seriously doubt it since the potential for showstopper bugs will be immense. Just my 2 cents that say that now AMD has a feature set advantage and if they don't fall asleep at the wheel will be 12 months ahead on Intel regardless of what Intel does.
