I use the advanced full text search at sec.gov (free) and try a few different phrases that are routinely used in going private transactions/reverse splits. It then gives you a list of documents with some excerpts from the text. I scan through for any Schedule 13's, PRE's and DEF's and click on anything that looks promising. Give it a quick scan to see the terms. If it still looks decent I check the current price on Google Finance. Lastly, check to see how street name shares will be handled. I used to use secinfo until they started asking me for money. The sec website does just as well at no extra charge.
I keep a record of all of my transactions on my blog and it looks like, using my method, I've found several of the same plays that you all have. I'm not here to advertise for my blog...not sure what the rules are on that, so I won't post the address.
I'm interested to hear what methods others of you use to find arbitrage opportunities. Also, what phrases would you suggest searching for? I've got one that works fairly well for me but there may be a better way about it. I'd like to hear some of your suggestions.
It is nice to have a group here to share ideas with!
