I would agree to a point. If these tests are equal to they do not have to exceed mamo's, pap smears etc.. they will be used first, yearly. Patients and dr's would both prefer a quick non-invasive test that cost $15 a shot.

Paps are done yearly. Mamo's are done yearly. Hemoccults are done yearly, psa's are done yearly (until you get to old).

Conceivably every type of cancer could be tested using this method. Imagine a pancreatic, Glio, or other test for cancer where currently there is no test.

These tests do not have to be FDA approved and if a mass spec test ever is automated bringing new products to market would be very quick.
