Some more info:
I believe an in expensive test with a 90% or better rate would probably do fine. You can look at nmp22, pap smears, and for that matter very expensive mamograms or colonoscopy's, cystoscopy, etc. as a guidline. Patients reaching a certain age, symptoms, past personnel history or family history would probably all use these tests. The could be used as a tracking device or to be used along with current standard care.
Matritech’s technology (as shown with minimum testing) is more accurate, less invasive, and will cost the user less than existing tests such as cystoscopy, colonoscopy, and mammography
Also don't rule out the fact that those patients that tested positive had undetectable cancer using current detection methods. The dcis accuracy was very good.
Compare the psa test with nmp48, a third of those who test positive for prostate cancer using PSA are healthy and, more seriously, a third of those who are PSA-negative have cancer.
In addition to receiving FDA approval for its initial tests, Matritech has successfully secured reimbursement rates for these tests under Medicare.

I put that information in here just to show the current costs vs what nmp testing would cost. I know more then one doctor that has told me this would be a great thing to have and that if these rates held up they would use them ALOT.
I still question if this testing will ever be available in mass spec. and if the accuracy will hold up with in clinc testing. But if it does it will do more for cancer patients then any other investment I have made.
