To be honest, I don't really see that catalyst that will power gold to new highs over the near term, but a close above $414.50 will be a good indicator to me that old yeller will give it the old college try.

I'm glad to see the OI in the COMEX gold futures has been growing. I think that is essential if, indeed, we're going to make new highs on this run. Friday's gold COT report should show that the open interest grew by 19,429 contracts to 249,438, a 9% increase for the week.
