veno thanks for revealing the guts, via the VW in-car-computer video link, of the IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee debate. Although your link and mine are dated, it would be interesting for the board to pick up the thread central to the ZigBee debate...mind you and all this debate applies to networking your fridge, iron, and front porch light wirelessly using low power and long battery life, which can be done for low-data networking...the context veno points to is for in-car computing of such.

In your 2006 video link VW mentions the possibility of low-data networking with ZigBee. In the past Motorola and Paul Allen have bought into the possibility too...
