Good Life has some solid assets and impressive business model.
Yesterday I spent some time researching the Good Life company, currently operating in Haorizi Province of China. Apparently they have about 90 million people in this area. GL operates about 1,600 grocery stores, with each store averaging $80,000 in revenues.
GL has an interesting concept whereby they sell a franchise oppty, and then collect franchise fees in the form of costs built into the products that each store operator obtains through GL. GL has several logistic centers in operation and apparently uses a modern point of sale inventory system to automate product orders to each store. Additionally, GL has a line of products produced and labelled under its own name.
I don't understand consumerism in China, but for some reason GL is able to take advantage of "club membership" where customers sign up to shop at GL. Perhaps it's like a Costco membership. Either way, club membership has bennies that promote customer loyalty.
GL seems to have its act together, and is forecasting a growth to 4,000 stores in 2008. I can't believe this number, but even a portion of it would represent huge potential. I'm looking forward to seeing my GL divvy pay off in the long run.
