I went to the star-telegraph website and started reading the Barnett Shale blog..
i found this article, one of many, very inlighting..
from the blog......
A second Arlington group, Pleasant Ridge United, this one representing several neighborhoods on the city's Southwest side, is reporting a rich lease deal whose signing bonus matches the area high for neighborhood leases in the Barnett Shale.
The group is reporting on its web site that it agreed to a deal with Dale Resources on behalf of Chesapeake Energy that calls for a $16,850-per-acre bonus, with a 25 percent royalty free of transportation costs. The group says the deal closely follows another one reached recently by the United Neighbors coalition in south Arlington, which called for a $15,850-per-acre bonus and included environmental provisions on noise levels and minimum distances to homes reflected in the city of Arlington's drilling ordinance.
The deal follows one reached during the holidays by the Southwest Arlington Property Owners group, which called for a $16,850-per-acre bonus.
