Safer in what way? Most of the theorectical or actual advantage is not that important clinically. You may not belive me but remember Bovine thrombin has been used for years and years and years and years. If there was such a significant problem with it don't you think the MD's using it would have become awaure of it?

If hospitals pay significantly more for a product it comes out of the profit from the procedure. If I use a bunch of extra "stuff" during a procedure I say to the tech there goes all the profit for the hospital.
