Most people refuse to to live in the present moment.....to deal with "what is". Instead, they create an ideal....something to strive for, to become. Immediately, there's conflict. They disassociate themselves from who they really are and instead, identify themselves with that imaginary ideal. The firmer held the ideal, the greater the justifications to bring it to bear.
