So, will Windows XP for 64-bit Extended Systems (and the beta version out already) be able to better utilize 3G of memory? It sounds like Windows XP with 3G is no better than Windows XP with 2G, as far as memory available to applications goes.
Slightly better, because the OS needs some memory. In 3 GB system, the app gets 2 GB max, all of which cab be physical memory. In a 2 GB system, tha app can still allocate 2 GB, but not all of it can be in physical memory.
