Actually I meant both:
The obvious point which is also the answer to your quiz that MRX can not have a 30-month stay etc.
The other point refers to the protection of that specific patent:
MRX currently have one issued patent relating to Solodyn. They are pursuing additional patent protection because the patent is weak and they know it (useless is indeed a harsh word).
On November 6, 2007, they received notification of a non-final rejection from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office relating to certain patent applications that they filed relating to Solodyn. They need to obtain additional patent protection for Solodyn or their ability to deter generic competition will be very limited.
