the virgin angle for us was in the blessed virgin mary... so the virgin aspect was prevalent in our teaching also... she was untouchable though... she wasnt ever poised as a prize... more like something to aspire to be like.. at least for the woman... i never cared for the dogma but the pagentry was quite awesome especially to a child... i still remember the picture of purgatory hanging in the foyer of the church. it was of these ghost like figures without a human form, kind of looked like casper the freindly ghost, they were surrounded with flames and they were kind of redish pink to simulate the act of sins burning off of their soul in preparation for entry into heaven... of course purgatory was only for people who died with sins on their soul... im not sure what you had to do to go to hell... i watched jesus camp recently... in it the leader said they were pursuing the children because they were the most open and if you got them young, theyd be with the organization for life... one of the ancient popes said something similar, something about give me your child before they are 7 and i will have them for the rest of their lives...im not involved with the church any longer...havent been for a long time..but you never forget.
