The Scottrade "phone order only" situation should be lifted shortly. Scottrade has an automatic system in place for disallowing phone in orders on penny stocks that suddenly experience extraordinary volume. This came about because of the hacking incident in August of 2006 and it is an intelligent proactive safeguard Scottrade put in place. If it had been in place before the incident, the situation may have been avoided.

The bottom line is Ameritrade needs to get the message in their pocketbook. If you have an Ameritrade account then close it and switch over to Etrade, Scottrade, Schwab or someone else. Anyone else.
