Absolutely. My father's little coal gasification company was eventually acquired by Columbia Gas and he spent the rest of his career with them. Besides working in the transmission and distribution of NG, they were an early pioneer of importation of LNG (to a port in the northeast ... Delaware if I recall correctly).
