They were being watched under a microscope for years by the FDA... new CEO was Jay Wadewaker (sp?) who people described as a power hungry maniac. The previous CEO was Bob Cusick (sp?). He was a turnaround specialist and took the company from near death with no sales to having massive sales and profits. Then he quit.... I believe he left in 2002. The control problems I believe began around 2003 when their consent decree was lifted because prior to that it's very difficult to breathe without the FDA watching. 2005 the shit hit the fan but I believe the recalls only went back to 2003 when Bob was already gone.
