You didn't perform computer forensics and determined the cause? Then you have no say. Without the above, one can't say if it was even the CPU, that particular CPU, or any CPU in the family.

Besides, you still don't get it. A simple crash is less problematic than one that destroys data. Worse is one that corrupts data. The Conroe crash was of the worst type.
