I think part of the tactic of their PR's is to keep people hanging on. Just like the carrot in front the donkey. If you think the transparency and PR's purpose is to be informative, then yeah thay failed miserably. But, if you look at it as a way to keep hope alive and investors involved, they are brilliant!
I GUARANTEE you, and maybe this has even happend to you, people have had their fingers on the sell button. But, just before they pull the trigger, there is that little seed of doubt in the back of their head. "What if it's true?". So they stick around a little longer because no one wants to sell and then see it run.
