The difference being that except for very brief periods in the last 200 years the 'company' you refer to increases in value at a far more rapid pace than any in the world, and in turn attracts even the singiest of investors. And hands out that wealth to aid just about every needy 'company' in the world. Sounds like the greatest company ever created to me.
