Train Guy, I think the problem with the Nasdaq TRIN is the amount of volume that is concentrated in a few of the biggest issues. Take MSFT, INTC, CSCO, SUNW, ORCL and a couple others, and you prob. account for half of the volume on the Nasdaq.

This, I think, is why the TRINQ is so flaky. Perhaps one should only use it to guage buying/selling pressure in the NDX.
