I am sure that there are a lot of "hot islands" in real estate, but in most of the country, not really (my wife is the expert in that field in our family and she is just selling a property in Chicago, not really an outrageous pricing environment). Used to be that they'd give you a mortgage 3 times your yearly gross income, and they still do in most places.
