I really do very little chart checking during trading, I have my "points" set up in memory (not electronic, my own) from time to time I'll bring a chart up to check some assumptions I was working on, particularly like today, when the assumptions were wrong (I had a double lunch tactics, the first worked like a charm, the second, don't ask <g>). 75% of the time, everything works according to plan with the exception of one or two "bad cases" which require redefining and refining "levels" and slopes of intraday boxes. Just don't get the impression that complex formulas are used for that, just a rough look is sufficient to see level violations or changes in the "normal" progression" of daily boxes.
