SILK ROAD RESOURCES LTD. ANNOUNCES BOARD CHANGES AND MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENT
Silk Road Resources has made changes to its board of directors. As planned
in conjunction with the previously announced reactivation transaction of
the company, Jeff Lawson and Randal Matkaluk have resigned their positions
as members of the board of directors of the company. Joining the board are
David R. Peterson, PC, QC, and Ron Binns, CA.
Mr. Peterson, the former premier of Ontario, is chairman of the Toronto law
firm of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. Mr. Peterson is a director of a
number of public companies as well as being a director of a number of
charitable, educational and environmental organizations.
Mr. Binns is the chief financial officer of Nevada Capital Corporation Ltd.
From 1989 to 2002 he served as the chief financial officer of Franco-Nevada
Mining Corporation Ltd. Mr. Binns is a chartered accountant and has
lectured for the B.C. Institute of Chartered Accountants and the world's
largest accounting firms. Mr. Binns has extensive experience as a corporate
director.
Silk Road is also pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Sennitt as
vice-president, exploration, of the company. Mr. Sennitt has extensive
experience in Asian-focused exploration and most recently was a consultant
with Watts, Griffis and McOuat. Mr. Sennitt has hired a team of exploration
geologists that will be mobilized by March 19, 2004.
Silk Road is in the process of beginning an exploration program on its
properties in Gansu province, China.
