i wonder if those distis have price protection even at those prices

When I was in the business, disti's that I worked with would
post SKU's that were deeply discounted (I usually didn't
touch them because of aging concerns with infrastructure) and
were not offered for sale with return priviledges.
If the disti wouldn't offer returns, chances were good they
couldn't either. (From what I was told by one person at one
disti this was true - ymmv).
