TI, Marvell cut WLAN chipset prices
Daniel Shen, Taipei; Jessie Shen, DigiTimes.com [Monday 8 March 2004]

Some US-based chipmakers, including TI and Marvell, have begun to lower prices for WLAN chipsets down to US$10, and access point/router chipsets down to US$13, in order to compete more effectively. In the competitive market of 802.11g, other major international chipmakers, including Broadcom, Conexant and Atheros, now face the pressure to possibly cut their own prices. Taiwanese chipmakers believe that advances in technology can counter the price erosion, according to local WLAN makers.
