Paul, I didn't say the IPC *must* be higher, I said it was one of two likely possibilities. In his haste to be rude, wbmw made a logical error, and asserted that it was ridiculous to think that a slower part with less cache and a higher PR rating could have a higher IPC. Of course, we all know that this is precisely the signature one would expect in the case of higher IPC, which is why it is a good possibility.
