Form factors are shrinking. OEMs don't want to deal with unnecessary heat.

Even custom builders don't want to deal with it. Why buy a hot chip that performs no better than a cooler one? You can save on the cooling hardware, or overclock, or just feel better about the fact that your system isn't a space heater.

Of course, AMD can drop the price even more, but that's the result of being uncompetitive, not evidence that AMD can remain competitive.
