BullNBear52 -- I believe it's correct to say that 51% of the revenue to the oil companies was an extremely (. . .) good deal for them and correspondingly lousy deal for Venezuela -- see e.g. http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=16199223

and don't have the time to check this right now, but I think I recall both that those deals with the oil companies predated Chavez, and that he nationalized only after the oil companies had refused to renegotiate on more commercially reasonable terms -- ??

as for 'trillions', well -- we have 'contributed' some other things as well -- such as (in any given instance at least support for if not also outright 'turnkey' installation of) various typically vicious dictatorships -- and it's not like we haven't gotten anything in return, those nations having been, after all, the original owners of the oil -- . . .
