Addition Technology was a shell company created by the CEO of KeraVision, Thomas Loarie, for the purpose of acquiring KeraVision’s IP in bankruptcy proceedings. If I recall correctly, he paid all of $1M for the IP.

There was no bona fide demand for the product while KeraVision was around, and there probably isn’t any now. LASIK technology has gotten better and there are approved ICL’s that offer better visual outcomes, so it’s hard to see why anyone would use Intacs except for research.
