Marvell plans to lay off workers in Israel, says report

NETANYA, Israel — Marvell Technology Group Ltd. is set to lay off between 100 and 200 workers in Israel, according to a report in the Israeli newspaper Globes. The move is part of Marvell's plan to cut around 10 percent of its global workforce of about 5,000 people.
The company employs 1,200 workers in Israel, and according to the report, the sites that will be affected are in Tel-Aviv and Petah Tikva.

"We have never commented on hearsay and this remains our policy. If and when we have anything to report to the media, we will do so," the report quoted a spokesperson for Marvell Israel as saying. The company, founded in 1995, has design centers in California, Texas, Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, and Maryland. Internationally, Marvell has design centers in Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan.
