Pfizer Inc (PFE) has agreed to acquire Coley Pharmaceutical Group Inc. (COLY) for $8 a-share in cash.

The pharmaceutical company said the Coley deal has a $164 million enterprise value, and will form an important component of it's vaccine strategy.

The deal is expected to close in early 2008.

On Thursday, Pfizer shares closed down 32 cents, or 1.4%, to $23.39, while Coley shares closed down 7 cents, or 2.3%, to $3. Coley has about 26.5 million shares outstanding.
