That's the object of the game, make money. Even people that can't trade in and out should at least be getting their initial investment back at the first opportunity.

That might mean selling 70%, or 60%, or 50% or whatever it takes on the first decent move, then sit with freebies and wait longer term IF the reasons that you bought in the first place don't change.

If it goes the other way after you buy, it's usually a good idea to take a small early loss, it's easy to buy back, lower, or even slightly higher if need be.

Reduce risk reduce reward, but preserve your capital.
