often they did not...

reminds me of a story about a seeker who had heard
of the great powers of a local yogi-
a yogi full compassion.

When the seeker entered the yogi's place.
the very first question asked by the seeker,
the yogi gets up and lifts the seeker, runs over
to the window and throws him out...

Moral of the story...
it never comes on our terms,
it can't because the constructs of mind continue
the illusion.
I hope you find a teacher who throws you out the window!
