True. But doesn't most of the newer stuff communicate via ASPI? If it's a common interface, wouldn't it then be more stable? I'm not a hardware person, so I may be way off base there. My experience, being the last line of support for our product, we haven't run into many problems related to hardware... most often, it's software or system setup. By system setup, I mean things like not having NT Administrative rights when installing or the LPT1 port not being bi-directional when we have a security key attached. That may not be a fair comparison, but how many consumer software products do fancy things with devices?

I guess I'm not so willing to let them off the hook.
