Jerry, OT - I don't know about Bigfoot, but the Loch Ness thing is for real. I was in Scotland last year and took a day trip up to Loch Ness, and a couple hour ride on the Loch in a small ship. The captain had been on the Loch daily for ~20 years and showed us the digital sonar sightings of these creatures. They had identified 18 individual ones of varying size, with their mass calculated based on their cross section/depth. They are skin breathing reptiles, and a dead one washed up on the shore several years back, so they've identified exactly what they are species-wise (he gave us the Latin name). This find wasn't widely publicized though since they don't want the tourist trade to subside, and the various research scientists have had disagreements.

There are other examples of the same species in other deep lakes over there. The Loch is close to 1000 feet deep, and the creatures occasionally come up near the surface to feed on salmon, though they usually feed in the lower depths. The captain had seen one on the surface only twice in 20 years, but they spot them underwater at varying depths on the sonar every few weeks. He showed us the digital cross section images - long neck, slender body, triangular shaped side fins, etc. These creatures have been spotted at the Loch over the centuries going back to Roman times.

So that's the Jeopardy answer of the day :o)
