4) TXP to offer ONTs for ADTRAN GPON solution and custom outside plant cabinet retrofit kits for Total Access 5006 November 7th OTCBB-listed, $50 million-capitalised TXP Corporation of Richardson, Texas, an original design manufacturer for the communications industry, which:
a. Has three primary business units: TXP-Texas Prototypes offering pre-manufacturing services for the electronics industry, TXP-Retrofit Solutions providing custom engineering kits to enable ILECs to upgrade their local access service delivery infrastructure, and TXP-iPhotonics developing and marketing a family of ONT products to both OEMs and the ILECs.
b. Shipped its first BPON ONT units in March 2007, including both single family unit (SFU) and multiple-dwelling unit (MDU4) models, to a major OEM and also a Tier I carrier.
c. In May 2007 launched the remotely powered 7200G family of mini-size, single-port, Power over Ethernet based GPON ONTs, claimed to be only one quarter the size of current generation GPON ONTs and designed for operators deploying FTTP in multi-dwelling and single-living units limited in space.
d. In June 2007 announced a new customer premises powering architecture for delivering FTTP-based services consisting of two key elements: a portfolio of power-over-anything GPON ONTs enabling conventional inside wiring to power the ONT; and an FTTP power-hub for installation in the home near computers or residential gateways, powering the ONT but also powering the gateway or router using standard Power over Ethernet.
Has now announced a partnership with ADTRAN of Huntsville, Alabama, a $1.5 billion-capitalised supplier of network access solutions, under which:
1. TXP would augment ADTRAN's GPON offering with ONTs designed for multiple targeted applications.
2. TXP would additionally supply a customised family of its outside plant cabinet retrofit kits to support the deployment of ADTRAN's Total Access 5006, a carrier-class multi-service access and aggregation platform, enabling ADTRAN to cost effectively upgrade local access infrastructures for its customers.
John Bartell, ADTRAN Senior Product Manager for the Carrier Networks Division, commented:
- "We look forward to working with TXP as they have developed first-in-class ONT technology, along with quick turnaround and competitive pricing that will support our planned deployment of ONT technology".
- "In addition, TXP's outside plant cabinet retrofit solutions provide an effective solution for retrofitting outside plant cabinets with our Total Access 5006 systems, without high replacement costs or the need for renegotiation of rights of way".
While Michael Shores, President and CEO of TXP, stated:
- "...our new relationship with ADTRAN...further validates our strategy to become a leading ODM supplier of telecom technology".
- "Our ONTs are already interoperable with most of the leading OLT OEMs and our quick-turn capabilities enable us to launch products for our partners even faster and more cost effectively than traditional providers".
- "We expect ADTRAN will be a major supplier of indoor ONT-based MDU solutions, and believe we are ideally positioned to benefit from the rapid growth in new FTTH services".
- "Moreover, our first retrofit designs for ADTRAN are now complete and we expect our first kits will start shipping mid month".
- "Overall, our retrofits combined with our ONTs significantly enhance ADTRAN's ability to service last mile applications".
