It MAY be getting close to skunk mating season, but up here in the mountians we only use 'em as a last resort.

Seriously though, I think they smell bad year 'round (mating season or not) and they are nocturnal. He's probably just makin' his rounds. If doesn't find food (or shelter) around your place, he'll change his pattern in a few nights. They are very mellow little critters. They have pretty long fuses. The only times I've ever come close to getting sprayed, I was aggravating the little schit ... heck, I deserved it.
