I just put a new version of Profile.asp into production that should run MUCH faster, especially when you hit Previous 50 or Next 50, and should therefore result in a lot less load for the system overall.

There are still lots of changes to make to it, most of which are really tedious, so they'll be done by our new programmer tomorrow.

However, it's gone from 425 lines of code to 277. And rather than Next 50 and Previous 50 doing 3 reads of every message someone ever wrote, profile.asp just does one 50-record read in any scenario. That was the biggest efficiency change, and I can tell it's definitely a lot faster.

Edit: In the case of people like Zeev, it was reading all 19000 of his messages 3 times. Now it's just 50.
