Some ideals are incompatible with others.

It's pretty durned obvious that Ashcroft's ideals are incompatible with those of the liberal persuasion. He just wants to suppress those, not all of 'em.

Most of us take some from them, and some from him, and blend 'em all together in a personal idealism.
