They had some pretty convincing slides attached.

No, they didn't. They had slides which talked about "Xeon" and "CT" and "2004" attached.

I will speculate that HP *is* about to launch Opteron servers, and that this presentation is a bone thrown to Intel, a promise to also use 'CT' when it is available in [late -- my guess] 2004 [or early 2005].

If 'CT' is to debut in 'Nocona', then I speculate that 'Nocona' is delayed to Q4.

Q2 makes no sense in light of Intel's comments, and all the other evidence. I won't buy that until Intel says it.
