Cold fusion, if it was not a complete hoax, has not been satisfactorily repeated by researchers following the reported procedures in top research groups around the world, including several at MIT, Bell Labs (RIP), Princeton, etc. It is very likely that this was a hoax.

I understand that people are still investigating it, but know of no advances in this area, however I am not involved in it and do not keep up with the literature.
