Interesting. Here in So.Calif. I received something awhile ago saying if you let them install solar panels on your roof, as the electricity is generated it goes into the grid and they pay you for it, then you pay them for the amount of it you use. Sounded interesting, but I didn't pursue it at the time, since I expected to be moving.

It's a real shame that once the oil crisis back in the '70's was over, we went right back to guzzling oil and dropped all the financing for experimenting with alternatives, like the windmill farms, etc., leaving us to face this same crisis and dependence now, and into the future if we don't get it right this time. No question in my mind, the technology is there, but the problem is political, not scientific, IMO.
