Phil, if one of the board moderators finds the word "asshole" to not be courteous and respectful, and one of the moderators feels it is o.k., and if the first rule of the iBox is Be courteous and respectful of other folks, if it's remotely possible. and the fourth rule is Have fun, observe the rules., then I think asking for clarification, both for myself and those who would post here is perfectly reasonable and could hardly be considered "disrupting the board". Indeed, by having unclear rules the board is disrupted to the extent the moderators do not clarify the very rules they have written when they are asked for clarification, and there is unnecessary disruption caused by queries regarding post deletions. I would hope you agree that a level playing field is a requisite for a successful board no matter what has transpired here in the past.

Beyond that, one of the moderators has indicated to me that he feels the notion of "free speech" is 'politics', and to that end knowing the board's policy enables one to conduct themselves appropriately here, without the fear of either post deletion or the implied/direct threat of banning.

If you would like references to the conflicting posts of the moderators I will post them here but I have not in the interest of not disrupting the board.

Perhaps you will consult with the other moderator(s) and let all here know your policy on the use of the word "asshole" as applied to other posters, and not in the context of a rant.
