It's not a whole lot different than when Raging Bull started allowing people to set up private, moderated boards.

The main difference is in how it's perceived:

On RB, you are "granted permission" to post on a given, private board.

On iHub, you are "banned" from posting on a private board. So it seems like more of a negative process.

In iHub's case, though, it could result in more subscriptions, because historically persecuted groups of posters (Wavoids, for example) can now have the private board they've always wanted, but they have to pay if they want to play.
