The picture above is the guts of the ElectroWave control system. We used an Allen-Bradley PLC along with a very complicated sensor called a Motion Reference Unit to derive vessel heave data, and translate that into valve control signals, driving the hydraulic actuators on the active heave system.

This is the Active Heave Compensator, Proteus. Here it is set up on our test stand and we are getting ready to start the initial Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). This piece of equipment sits in-line with a winch (the winch would be positioned on the left side of the picture, but we just have it anchored to the test frame). The package, in our test, was a clump weight that you can see the crane hooked to on the right side of the picture.

This is the Hydraulic Pump Unit, or HPU that ships with the Proteus unit. Here you can see the silver ElectroWave USA control box on the left side of the HPU. Here you can see our technician's laptop plugged into the control box during an acceptance test.
