06:44 ET Veeco Instruments beats by $0.01, guides in line for Q1; says conditions improved dramatically in Q4 (VECO) 27.44: Reports Q4 (Dec) earnings of $0.03 per share (ex-items), $0.01 better than the Reuters Research consensus. Revs rose 12.1% year/year to $77 mln vs the $74.1 mln consensus. For Q1, co sees EPS of $0.05-$0.09 on revs of $84-$88 mln (consensus $0.08 and $84.52 mln). "Industry market conditions improved dramatically in the fourth quarter, and we appear to be at the start of a sustainable recovery cycle after two years of historically low capex investment by our customers."
