I could probably give you a dozen reasons, but here are two obvious ones: i) Dividends eligible for the special tax rate have already been taxed once at the corporate level; ii) Long-term capital “gains” may be breakeven or even losses after adjusting for inflation.

I don’t want to go into more detail here it’s not germane to biotech investing. I’d be happy to continue the discussion on one of iHub’s politics boards.
