Your statements remind me of the Viet Nam era mantra: Better dead than red. And, so our youth, many very unenthusiastic about the project, set forth to kill to protect the Vietnamese from becoming red.
I think your opinion and that of a lot of Iraqis would differ. Most third-world country people, from my experience, are more concerned with getting food for their next meal and fuel to cook it with than they are political philosophies.
Your type mentality is exactly why I started propagandizing my own son with little off-hand remarks when he was very young to the following effect: Our family does not believe in going to other countries to attack brown and black skinned people. But, if another country ever attacks us, we must all fight. I wanted to be ahead of the military's strong appeal to the macho, innocence, and basic political ignorance of our young males.
Have you served in the military or are you a chicken-hawk?
