So far it doesn't give a clue why it dies. Logs nothing except a single 500 error, although once it's died, everyone who tries to use an ASP file is going to get a 500 error.

One of the bigger frustrations is flying blind. It just inexplicably dies without logging anything meaningful and nothing that can help us predict when it'll die, much less why. The only information we've gotten to-date is anecdotal reporting that leaving recordsets open can cause this. That explanation is getting less and less credible by the day.
