RE: GG Gold sale. It is my understanding that GG's gold sale was to avoid certain tax charges that would have been incurred after 1/1/04 do to changes in Canadian tax laws.

That's very interesting. Can you possibly furnish a source for that?

While entirely possible, for now I have to doubt that is the case because McEwen took a lot of heat for precipitating the break in the PoG that occurred at that time.

Were it a tax avoidance move, I think McEwen would have come out and said something to that effect in his defense and to quiet the criticism coming from the bullish members of the gold community.

I hope what you say is factual for I'd enjoy removing McEwen's name from my list of "bonehead plays of 2003." <ggg>
